Primary Function:

Each AXO/IED Operator will have personal experience of state-of-the art IEDD tactics, techniques and procedures, and will be able to provide hands-on expertise in destroying or rendering AXO/IEDs safe. Each operator will assist in the training of Iraqi EOD technicians in dealing with complex AXO/IEDs.  AXO/IED Operators also train and mentor the Iraqi Search Team in their day-to-day operations. Actively supports and upholds the Company’s stated vision, mission, and values.


Essential Functions:

Provide relevant Improvised Explosive Device Disposal (IEDD) capability, oversight and leadership to SIG’s PM/WRA IEDD remediation project in accordance with SIGs Standing Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
Assist the TL to update and correct as required all developing SOPs’ in accordance with the objectives of the IEDD remediation project
Participate with or oversee all related IEDD training
Assist the Team Leader develop Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP’s) as the project evolves where required

Maintain situational awareness abreast of current threats as they apply to performing IEDD operations in Iraq
Monitor morale health and overall well-being of all assigned employees
Conduct other duties appropriate to the post of IEDD operator / team member as directed by the Task Order Leader / Operations Officer or Team Leader, including but not limited to fulfilling the purpose and responsibilities of AXO / IED Team Leader
Conduct, develop, update and maintain safe principles of IEDD remediation operations under the direction of the Task Order Leader / Operations Officer / Team Leader. Conduct risk assessments prior to all operational tasking
Recommend modifications/adjustments to safety procedures as required to the Task Order Leader / Operations Officer / Team Leader
Ensure weekly monthly and quarterly reports are submitted in a timely manner
Ensure the security and accountability of all USG and SIG property
Work within the framework of SIG’s core values, promoting its ethos and mission statement

Job Requirements:

Qualified as a IEDD high threat / US equivalent, Joints Service Operator
Minimum 10 years’ relevant military experience with at least five years’ experience as an operator conducting IEDD
Thorough understanding of concepts, related practices, in recent conflict and post-conflict areas
Comprehensive knowledge of IEDD operations and TTP’s
Recent “real-world” in theatre experience, regarding the conduct of IEDD operations and threat management
A demonstrated experience in training and capacity building
Experience while operating in a multi-cultural environment
Computer literate and conversant with all programs within MS office
Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation
Must be willing to travel OCONUS
Must be able to pass a physical approving candidate for overseas work
Must be able to meet the physical requirements dictated by project requirements
If former military, must have received an honorable discharge
Must possess valid passport
Must have experience in applicable safety standards
