Princess Cruises – We are currently searching for a highly motivated Security Operations Officer  who will be responsible for preparing for and responding to security incidents, minimizing risk to passengers and crew, and conducting port and tour security assessments to promote the security of our ships, passengers and crews while complying with all international, flag state, U.S. and corporate security regulations, standards and policy.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate port and tour security inspection program for compliance with Carnival Corporation guidance and directives; review reports for thoroughness and accuracy.
Monitor worldwide intelligence and distribute information to the fleet and company Executive and Management staff to permit effective decision making.
Conduct Port and Tour security inspections to assess physical security, evaluate potential threats, and ensure compliance with international code and corporate standards.
Ensure ports of call and tour venues are reviewed to ensure they adhere to required security standards and can permit scheduled operations to occur.
Evaluate security related intelligence to prioritize the operations of the company’s Port Security Inspectors and make recommendations to the Company Security Officer regarding the viability of scheduled port calls and tour offerings in light of various threats to passengers, crew and vessels from Terrorism, Crime, Civil Unrest, etc.
Able to balance security requirements with operational  needs and budgetary evaluation.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
5 years’ experience as a Ship Security Officer, law enforcement officer (e.g., police officer, FBI, etc.), Port Facility Security Officer or service in a maritime military organization (e.g., U.S. Coast Guard, Royal Marines, etc.).
Ability to analyze data to identify threats and security trends; make sound decisions and recommendations on complex situations/events.
Ability to analyze and evaluate port and ship security operations and procedures to identify existing or potential gaps and effective, realistic corrective actions.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) with U.S. and international port security officials, ship’s officers, and employees from shore operations and other departments.
Strong writing skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports for distribution to fleet customers as well as company and corporate executives
Ability to travel, both domestically as well as internationally, up to 25%.
Ability to be on your feet for prolonged periods of time when doing port visits.
