High Risk Senior Instructor (HRSI)

The High Risk Senior Instructor (HRSI) will be responsible for training Iraqi national search teams in High Risk/IED Search TTPs. Actively supports and upholds the Company’s stated vision, mission, and values.


Essential Functions:

The objective of this training is to enable Janus or Iraqi Partner search teams to successfully conduct search for AXO/IEDs in buildings, structures, roads, etc. and safely mark these for disposal by AXO/IED removal Operators.
The HRSI will ensure proper search team members follow all safety procedures, communications, security protocols and other procedures in strict accordance with Sterling SOPs.

The HRSI will instruct search teams on the integration of AXO/IED-Detection K-9s; magnetic anomaly/metal detectors and other instruments; the use of remote pull systems; the use of cameras, mirrors, and other visual systems; and other procedures to safely locate AXO/IEDs and their precursors.
Participate with or oversee all related IEDD training
Assist the Team Leader develop Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP’s) as the project evolves where required
Maintain situational awareness abreast of current threats as they apply to performing IEDD operations in Iraq
Monitor morale health and overall well-being of all assigned employees
Conduct other duties appropriate to the post of IEDD operator / team member as directed by the Task Order Leader / Operations Officer or Team Leader, including but not limited to fulfilling the purpose and responsibilities of AXO / IED Team Leader
Conduct, develop, update and maintain safe principles of IEDD remediation operations under the direction of the Task Order Leader / Operations Officer / Team Leader. Conduct risk assessments prior to all operational tasking
Recommend modifications/adjustments to safety procedures as required to the Task Order Leader / Operations Officer / Team Leader
Ensure weekly monthly and quarterly reports are submitted in a timely manner
Ensure the security and accountability of all USG and SIG property
Work within the framework of SIG’s core values, promoting its ethos and mission statement

Job Requirements:

Qualified as a IEDD high threat / US equivalent, Joints Service Operator
The HRSI will be a former US or Coalition EOD/IEDD technician or High Risk Search instructor with several years of experience in Iraq, Afghanistan, or other conflict areas.
The HRSI will have at least three years of experience conducting high risk search training and/or search operations in support of military, civil, or humanitarian efforts.
Thorough understanding of concepts, related practices, in recent conflict and post-conflict areas
Comprehensive knowledge of IEDD operations and TTP’s
Recent “real-world” in theatre experience, regarding the conduct of IEDD operations and threat management
A demonstrated experience in training and capacity building
Experience while operating in a multi-cultural environment
Computer literate and conversant with all programs within MS office
Must be able to pass a detailed background investigation
Must be willing to travel OCONUS
Must be able to pass a physical approving candidate for overseas work
Must be able to meet the physical requirements dictated by project requirements
If former military, must have received an honorable discharge
Must possess valid passport
Must have experience in applicable safety standards
