Driver Operator [ARFF, MWS, Pumper]

The Driver Operator will be primarily based at one of the three BLiSS sites in Iraq and serve the Life Support Services contract in support of the State Department. The Driver Operator will be responsible for utilizing resources to accomplish operational requirements and will report to their assigned Crew Chief or the Assistant Site Chief. The additional duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive:
Serves as a Driver / Operator for structural and airport Fire Fighter, and HAZMAT responder on a scheduled rotation
Participates in Fire and Emergency Services activities including: fire suppression, EMS, rescue, public assistance, fire investigation, fire prevention, pre-fire planning, Fire Company training, public education, clinical training and routine maintenance of apparatus, equipment and facilities


Supports Emergency Management functions as needed

Required:

Citizenship: US Citizenship required
Education: High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent
DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Fighter I
DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard Fire Fighter II
DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard Airport Fire Fighter
DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard Apparatus Driver/Operator for Pumper, Mobile Water Supply and ARFF vehicles
DOD, IFSAC or ProBoard HazMat Awareness and Operations
First Responder and CPR Certified
Valid Driver’s License from country of origin

Experience: One to five (1-5) or more years of Driver / Operator – Fire Fighter experience


Security Vetting : Must possess a Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT) security clearance, maintaining eligibility for the duration of the contract
Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination
Language S k ill s : Expert comprehension of both oral and written English communication skills in order to present, facilitate, and disseminate informatio

Work Ethic: Commitment to maintaining a high performance team which delivers customer service excellence

Desired:
At least two (2) years of international experience in challenging locations, preferably working in the Middle East, with a working knowledge of customs and cultural differences
Current SECRET Clearance is highly preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in Fire and Emergency Services, with the ability to maintain all required certifications and licensures
Ability to collect, analyze and summarize data and to prepare clear and concise reports
Exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and administrative details in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
Computer skills, specifically in use of Microsoft Word and Excel
Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change
