In order to support the vital work of our teams on the ground and to ensure the continuity of our programmes and the safety of our staff, we are seeking a professional Country Security Adviser based in Erbil.
Our Ideal Candidate is:
A University Graduate in a relevant discipline (Security, Risk & Crisis Management or similar), a seasoned professional with an analytical mind, who can gather information from strong networks they build and maintain. An individual with significant political and cultural awareness and highly experienced in humanitarian context
Additionally, we are looking for a professional with proven experience liaising with relevant stakeholders. A demonstrated leader with strong communication and management skills, it is vital that the incumbent is familiar with the context in Iraq. The Country Security Advisor will work under the supervision of the Country Director of NRC Iraq, and the guidance of the Regional Security Advisor in Amman.
Job Profile Overview
Development and implementation of the NRC Security Management System at national level
Conduct Security Risk Analysis (SRA) according to minimum operational requirements (MOSS)
Minimize the security risks to the operations of NRC
Management of security staff at country office
Support, training, control and development of security staff in all offices
Prepare security related reports and advise Country Director on the developments
Communicate and cooperate with relevant external security actors
Train and develop staff in safety and security

The Position is based in Erbil, with extensive travelling to field offices
