Job Description

Strategic Resources, Inc. SRI is seeking to hire US Citizens with an active Secret Clearance to operate as Security Professionals to support military families.

Overview:

Qualified candidates with an active Secret Clearance will perform background investigations to support functions of U.S. Army Installation Command (IMCOM) child related background investigations in accordance with Army Directive 2014-23. The Security Professional will be required to apply demonstrated knowledge of security and background investigations. They also manage the child related background investigation submission support to the Command Designated Entity (CDE) to include the initiation, coordination, and tracking of background checks and reviewing and compiling the results to identify whether they contain derogatory information to be passed to the command for suitability determination.


Tasks & Responsibilities:
Identify categories of personnel requiring background checks and the requirements specific to each category.
Initiate, coordinate, process, submit and track background checks for individuals.
Monitor background investigation processing through e-mail and automated systems.
Compile, interpret, screen, and review results of preliminary background checks to identify whether they contain derogatory information.
Enter data into tracking systems, upon initiation of background check requests, and update as required.
Review entries and be competent in:
Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS)
OPM Central Verification System (CVS)
Personnel Investigations Processing System (PIPS)
Defense Central Index of Investigations (DCII)
FBI fingerprint and installation records check results
Electronic Questionnaire for Investigations Processing (e-QIP)
Provide corrective feedback and assistance to individuals completing security and employment documents through both written and verbal communications.
Produce a variety of documents using Microsoft Office to include Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and other automated systems.
Prepare correspondence and process as required; produce correspondence, memorandums, publications, forms, reports, spreadsheets, presentations (charts, tables, graphs, etc.) as required.
Review and edit documents for correct spelling, punctuation, grammar, and government/military formats; proof-read and recommend corrections prior to printing and distribution.
Other duties as assigned.



Security Clearance and Other Mandatory Requirements:
Must Possess a Minimum of a Secret Clearance
Must Successfully Pass Background Check
Must be a U.S. Citizen



Minimum Required Skills, Education, Experience & Abilities:
Must have the ability to independently analyze and resolve difficult issues and problems in the assigned area of responsibility involving work methods and management of day-to-day operations.
Working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
Effective communication skills (oral & written).
Ability to read and edit documents with a high level of accuracy.
Working knowledge of Department of Defense forms and policies pertaining to background checks and processes.
Possess the ability to assist applicants with completing the process and provide directions to avoid reoccurring and known pitfalls, which can delay the process.
Working knowledge and experience with the hardware, software, and peripherals used in security operations (e.g., JPAS; e-QIP; review of derogatory information; interpreting coded results from OPM, etc.).
Ability to work within a team environment and independently, with minimal supervision.
Must have proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel and other MS Office software.
