You'll collaborate with our Facilities Management team to create innovative security strategies, investigate breaches and create risk assessment plans for the future. You believe that providing effective security doesn't come at the expense of customer service - you will be our bodyguard (and our long lost pal).

Responsibilities
Serve as a senior security officer who can provide guidance and assistance to new officers.
Detect and serve as a general security presence/visible deterrent to suspicious activities, criminal acts or rules infractions at or near an assigned post which may be a threat to the property, assets or personnel at the site.
Conduct unarmed foot, bicycle and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior), control access and egress, monitor CCTV/alarm systems, metal detection operation, staff screening, provide escorts to service personnel and conduct other duties as specified in post orders or assigned.
Report all incidents, accidents and medical emergencies. Complete Security officer reports for each shift outlining shift activities. Assist with generation of access reports, video, etc. for assistance in Investigations
Conduct detailed equipment inspection and coordination of repairs, safety equipment audits (AED, fire extinguishers, eye wash stations and other areas as requested), respond to reboot requests in a timely and accurate manner and perform other job duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications
2 years of work experience in a security and/or safety related role including Security Officer, Retail/Store Detective, law enforcement, or service in government military forces.
Ability to speak and write English fluently and idiomatically.
Must be 18 years of age or older as required by applicable law, and be able to pass any training or other qualifications required for both licensing and the role.

Preferred qualifications
Able to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, periodic overtime and unscheduled shifts. Ability to lift and move 22kg (50 lbs) of equipment; stand up to 6 hours; walk up to 10km (6 miles) during a shift; and have adequate vision and hearing to observe/detect activity.
Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
