PATH is seeking to recruit a Global Security Officer who will develop and coordinate activities in support of PATH’s duty of care policy which endeavor to protect the safety and security of employees against reasonably foreseeable dangers in the workplace. Monitor compliance with safety, security and emergency preparedness-related organisational policies and procedures. Review the effectiveness and efficiency of safety, security and emergency preparedness-related activities. Report findings and make recommendations to senior management. He/She will be based in Nairobi.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Fleet Safety – LOE 10%
Support field office compliance with PATH’s fleet safety and management policy and procedures.
Travel – LOE 25%
Arrival travel briefing with all travellers to Kenya.
Conduct pre-departure travel briefing with all travellers to high-risk destinations.
Monitor travel tracker alerts during business day Africa to support “follow the sun” tracking.
Track traveller compliance with online travel safety training required as part of
Travel Safety Policy
Project Risk Assessment and Security Planning – LOE 40%
Projects: Work with programmes / project teams to update risk assessments and complete security planning for new projects.
Proposals: Work with BD team to complete risk assessments and security planning for potential projects during the proposal phase. Provide input into budgeting for duty of care / security.
Workplace Safety and Security and Emergency Preparedness – LOE 25%
Build capacity of and mentor staff identified in field office EMPs.
Coordinate and track annual emergency preparedness activities in all field offices.
Coordinate and track maintenance of emergency preparedness equipment in all field offices.
Manage maintenance and update of all field office Emergency Management Plans and related documents.
Conduct or coordinate (dependent upon travel budget/schedule) and track emergency preparedness exercises in all field offices.

Required Skills
Strong working knowledge in travel and site security management concepts.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and other standard computer-based tools and experience with SharePoint is preferable.
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal close supervision.
Required Experience
Bachelors degree in social sciences, security or related discipline, security training in a military or police background, a certificate of good conduct
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position working with INGOs
Excellent knowledge of organisational security, fire safety and first-aid
Strong communication skills both speaking and writing and the ability to communicate positively and effectively in English in a variety of international and cultural settings where Knowledge of French is an added advantage and possess
Strong organisational skills.
Ability to travel broadly within Africa and to Asia to various PATH offices since travel could be up to 30-40% on an annual basis.

You must currently have legal authorisation to work in Kenya.
