Role Overview

Security Services seeks to ensure a safe and secure environment for all colleagues to work and provides the strategic leadership and operational processes necessary to deliver that environment whether in the office or traveling on business.

The Security Services department is responsible for all Credit Suisse physical security issues, including risk assessments, security reviews, managing security vendor relationships, coordination and liaison with law enforcement and government agencies, regular liaison with financial sector security counterparts, alarm response and maintenance, and life and fire safety management. In emergency or crisis situations within the regional crisis management and business continuity management (BCM) framework, Security Services engages and manages event and site-specific requirements with the key focus being the subject matter experts for safety, security and intelligence development.

The Head of Security Services Europe reports to the Head of Security Services Switzerland/EMEA, and is responsible for the operational delivery of security support in Poland with approximately 5,000 employees as well as for around 40 locations in 13 countries throughout Europe.

The role requires close collaboration with the suppliers, partners, internal clients; regional facilities team members, function leads and the multiple internal groups within the Bank and the Security Services regional heads worldwide.

Core Functions

Conduct security risk assessments, security site surveys, branch security reviews and day-to-day security operations.
In emergency or crisis situations engage and manage relative security aspects with a focus on being the subject matter expert as part of the regional crisis management framework, in close liaison with Business Continuity Management (BCM), Shared Services partners and the Business.
Provide security advice and input to real estate projects.
Conducting security trainings.
Ensuring services are delivered in line with the budget.
Coordinate Technical Security Counter Measures (TSCM).
Coordinate and liaise with law enforcement and government agencies.

Candidate Description



A proven track record of running the Security Services and Health and Safety functions at a major organization.
Proven experience of major crisis or incident management around life safety activities.
Ability to challenge, influence and guide a senior group of managers during constructions, incident and international crises.
A track record of establishing productive, collaborative relationships in a large organization and externally with peers and other security, government, law enforcement, intelligence and business organizations.
Solid leadership and management working as part of a high achieving senior team.
A Solid understanding of the security and health and safety methods used to deliver a safe and secure environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Solid drive with a self-confident hands-on approach and ability to effect change.
Can communicate difficult or complex ideas clearly, even to multiple or senior managers.
Can deliver client focused, practical and creative solutions using own initiative with minimum oversight.
Ability to prioritize simultaneous activities successfully and bring them to closure within time scale and budget.
Well networked and/or ability to network effectively with peer firms and corporate security peers across Europe and throughout the region, as well as with law enforcement agencies and security services.
Positive and confident under pressure.
Familiar with a wide range of presentational and communication techniques.
Fluency in English, German as an advantage.
