Intelligence Analyst , Iraq

Job Summary 
The Intelligence Analyst supports air transportation, medical evacuation, and/or DOS-directed contingency missions through relevant and timely intelligence information on potential threats, assessments on operating procedures and locations, and promotion of general situational awareness.

Principal Accountabilities
Briefs crews, mission planners, and managers on the full range of threats to air transportation, medical evacuation, and/or DOS-directed contingency missions
Provides general intelligence support for mission planning and post-mission analysis, including but not limited to, assessments of airfields and landing zones, military and asymmetric threats to air operations, and recovery of downed aircrew members
Actively communicates and coordinates with appropriate DOS and other government counterparts to obtain most current and relevant intelligence support possible to air crews, ground personnel, and managers
Identifies and establishes unit requirements for intelligence reference materials
Maintains relevant databases of geospatial information and imagery, incorporating them into pertinent briefings, presentations, and instruction
Actively promote Embassy Air Wing general situational awareness by reinforcing operations and communications security
Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge & Skills
Must be knowledgeable of US Government and DOS security regulations and directives related to duties described above
Must be knowledgeable of air and ground operations conducted within Embassy Air Wing, and associated threats to those operations
Must be knowledgeable of structure and procedures of government and/or military intelligence counterparts and organizations
Must be knowledgeable of general threats and political/military trends in Country and the surrounding region
Must be able to timely identify, analyze, present, and disseminate credible and relevant information
Must be able to quickly learn basics of following information systems: ArcGIS (Aeronautical Reconnaissance Coverage Geographic Information), CIDNE (Combined Information Data Network Exchange), Falcon View, GEO Quest (Collaborative geospatial tool, combining real-time collaboration and map tools, provide map data and imagery), PowerPoint, TIGR (Tactical Ground Reporting System), and WEBTAS (Web Enabled Temporal Analysis System)
Must be able to quickly learn basics of M3, NGA, and WARP accounts
Must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Passport before assignment
Possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance is a condition of employment; an active Secret Security Clearance is preferred

Experience & Education
Five (5) years experience in military, law enforcement, and/or other US Government intelligence capacity fulfilling duties specified above (supported by discharge certificate or other documentation
Preferred related experience in preparing and disseminating intelligence products using tools and systems employed by Embassy Air Wing
High School Diploma is required
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in applicable field is preferred
Applicant must have completed intelligence courses relevant to duties described above; CMF 35F Intelligence Analyst or 18F Intelligence Sergeant MOS series or other government /commercial equivalent

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must possess a current US passport or have the ability to obtain one before assignment
Must obtain and maintain Secret security clearance before assignment
Previous Secret clearance preferred
Must be able to walk or stand on level and/or inclined surfaces up to three (3) hours per day and sit for up to five (5) hours per day
Must be able to routinely climb / descend stairs
On occasion must be able to lift 30 pounds
Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows / knees, and reach above / below shoulders
Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print
Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear
Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depths
Must be able to travel to and between remote locations in austere and/or hostile environments
May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure
May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft
May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft

Travel
Travel to and between CONUS and OCONUS locations is required
