Position: Close Protection Agent – Diplomatic Setting
Salary Range: $16.00-$17.00 per hour starting wage, based on qualifications, performance and contractual obligations. Access to benefits, pension and medical coverage are also available.
Rotating shifts, including days, evenings and overnights


Job Summary
As a close protection agent for GardaWorld, you are required play a vital role in the safety and security of diplomatic representatives. You will be required to be on call at a moment’s notice to provide close protection to our clients. You will report directly to our site manager.

Central Responsibilities
Provide close protection
Maintain a positive, productive work environment
Enforce establishment regulations
Ensure safety and security of certain individuals
Report writing and note taking
Ensure that all identified policies and procedures are being followed

Key Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate the following in order to be considered for this position:

High school diploma

Post-secondary education in security management, police foundations or in a related field

First aid certification

Possession of a valid Ontario security guard license

Minimum of 2 years of security experience

Valid driver’s license with a clean / clear drivers abstract

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong customer service skillsets

Available to work shift work, including weekends, overnights and holidays as required

Advanced knowledge of criminal, provincial and federal laws as they pertain to the security industry

Must be physically able to patrol on foot

Must have Military, police or close protection experience

Strong understanding of use of force and powers of arrest within the scope of the security industry

Strong understanding of security concepts, life safety systems and access control systems

Computer skillsets including composing emails, report writing and other clerical functions

Strong understanding of evidence and scene management

Ability to exercise sound judgement under stressful situations

Ability to understand and protect confidential information

Conduct advanced investigations

Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

Ability to operate with discretion

Ability to work alone and within a team environment
