Description
Position Summary:

With a general knowledge physical security and accountability of government equipment, the Weapons Custodian is responsible for receiving, logging, inventorying, controlling, distribution and safeguarding Arms, Ammunition and Explosives (AA&E) and sensitive items in a Consolidated Arms Room. The duties also includes maintaining or establishing accountability in accordance with the requirements of Standing Operating Procedures (SOP), Military Supply and Physical Security Regualations, Performance Work Statement (PWS), knowledge, good judgement and experience in safe custody operations. Responsible for of sensitive items.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

Performs the full range of work involved in the storage, issue, receipt and security of AA&E and other sensitive items within a Consolidated Arms Room.
Maintain 100% inventory of all assigned sensitive items and associated equipment ensuring they are properly accounted for at all times.
Issues and receives weapons from all tenant unit personnel having authorization to store weapons in the weapons storage facility
Inventory of all weapons assigned to the site at the beginning of each rotation
Responsible for tracking all Safe Custody activities.
Adjust Weapons Custodian personnel activities to maximize production and minimize lag time.
Assists in scheduling manpower for known and unknown activities and plan for possible contingency/surge operations
Maintains daily tracker of safe custody activities
Mentors personnel on current Army and Company standards and policies pertaining to Safe Custody operations.
Makes on the spot corrections for minor infractions and actions that require correction.
Enforces Safety and fire prevention standards and policies.
Coordinates documentation for transitional period for rotational units
Maintains the administrative shop’s filing system in accordance with the ARIMS standards.
Maintain Consolidated Arms Room Master Allocation Listing (MAL).
Operate military/contractor leased vehicle.
Performs other duties as directed.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Various items for Safe Custody, Small Arms Repairman tools, Technical Manuals, Office equipment, Computers and Printers.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Work is generally conducted in a secured shop environment. However, duties may involve the conduct of work in the outdoors area with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Work may require heavy lifting exceeding 50 pounds, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with Army SOP, OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations and published company work rules and policies.


Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications: One year related experience in weapons maintenance may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
High School graduate or equivalent.
Military (DD214 required) or civilian equivalent training in physical security, accountability of sensitive equipment such as Supply Mangement or Unit Armorer Certification.

Experience:

1-years of experience in the security AA&E or supply operations management.

Skills:
Collaborative work style fostering cooperation and teamwork.
Ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels to include multi-national staff, superiors, and ranking military officers.
Ability to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.
Ability to communicate proficiently in English, both verbally and written.
Ability to identify all variants of military arms and associated equipment
Must be knowledgeable of Physical Security Requirements for AA&E IAW ARs 190-11 and 190-13
Must be knowledgeable of Key and Lock Control procedures IAW AR 190-51
Must be knowledgeable of the supply control requirements of AA&E IAW AR 710-2 and DA Pam 710-2-1
Basic be proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook applications.
Must possess a High-level organizational and planning skills to ensure workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and documents.
