Duty Security Manager , West Africa

Location: Port Harcourt , Nigeria

Role:
The duty security manager is the company’s security supervisor who is responsible for security of personnel, physical assets and information in both physical and digital form.

The management security staff in this role generally serves as the personnel responsible for the supervision, development, implementation and management of the organization’s corporate security vision, strategy and programs. They direct staff in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining security processes across the organization to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability in all areas of financial, physical, and personal risk; establish appropriate standards and risk controls associated with intellectual property; and direct the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures related to data security and thereby deputized the fleet company security officer designation as per company ISPS plan and requirements.

Digital (or internal IT) security is involved in physical security. IT security typically addresses all the layers of an organization’s technology stack, this includes:


Network Security
Application security
Host Security
Mobile Security
Data Security The staff security supervisor’s primary duty is the prevention and deterrence of crime, to enforce company rules and act to protect lives and property, with due regards to corporate contractual obligation to provide these actions.

Reporting to: Group GM, HSE

Staff reporting: Duty Security operatives

Responsibilities:
To protect property by maintaining a high visibility presence to deter illegal and inappropriate actions, observing (either directly, through patrols, or by watching alarm systems or video cameras) for signs of crime, fire or disorder; then taking action and reporting any incidents to their client and emergency services as appropriate;

ISPS role: Undertake or accompany to carry out vessel internal ISPS audit as required by the designated CSO as the deputy Company Security Officer (Dep.CSO). The Company Security Officer is designated under the ISPS Code to perform duties and responsibilities with respect to the security of a Ship, for ensuring the development, implementation, maintenance and updating of a Ship Security Plan and for liaising with Ship Security Officers (SSOs) and with Port Facility Security Officers (PFSOs).

Qualifications:
Ex-Military personnel in any of the Armed forces service and/or State security Service duty with minimum of staff commissioned ranking.
