Security Coordinator

The Security Coordinator will be primarily based at US International Zone in Baghdad, Iraq, and serve the Life Support Services contract in support of the State Department. The Security Coordinator will report to the Security Manager and support critical client mission activities of this contract. The additional duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive:
Responsible for securing all badging, vetting, briefings/debriefings, CAC cards, GOI badges, COM badging, security certificates, visas, LOA’s and coordination with WDC support
Will work directly with the Security Specialist in the WDC corporate office to ensure all employee clearances are valid and current

Processes all clearance upgrade requests through WDC
Reports OPSEC violations immediately to Program Management and the Security Manager at the Corporate level and provide OPSEC training to all cleared employees annually
Performs Security and risk assessments, write reports, and maintain files as necessary
Primarily responsible for coordinating and enforcing security standards and any emergency action plan as directed by the Baghdad Vetting office
Acts as the main POC with the vetting department on all badging issues
Provides special matter expert security guidance and direction to Management
Makes recommendations to Program Manager and Security Manager based upon RSO security assessments
May be required to give written and oral reports to employees and or management
Attends security meetings held by the RSO
Participates in weekly travel briefings and helps to prepare travelers for their safety during their upcoming trips
Processes annual briefings to all cleared employees and debriefings to departing cleared employees
Additional tasks and special projects as assigned

REQUIRED:
Citizenship: US Citizenship
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Five (5) years’ experience working in a security related role, handling security measures, with at least one (1) year experience in an overseas environment
Basic understanding of security clearance processing and badging principles
Clear understanding of the RSO vetting process for securing a badge
Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality with sensitive information
Experience in living/working in a restrictive operational environment or military operations highly preferred
Experience working with a multi-cultural employee population
Must have the training background to give security instructional presentations
Must be independent and can confidentially execute with little guidance security directives concerning possible threats
Security Vetting: Must possess an active DOD or DOS Secret security clearance, maintaining eligibility for the duration of the contract
Medical: Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination
Language Skills: Expert professional, oral and written English communication skills, to present, facilitate and disseminate information.
Work Ethic: Commitment to maintaining a high performance team which delivers customer service excellence

DESIRED:
Department of State experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field a plus
Two (2) years or more of international experience in challenging locations, preferably working in the Middle East, with a working knowledge of customs and cultural differences
Arabic Language Level 2/2/2 skills or higher

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in security operations
Demonstrated ability to perform as an Security Coordinator, with a working knowledge of technical areas
Successful management of multiple sites in geographically dispersed locations
Ability to collect, analyze and summarize data and to prepare clear and concise reports
Experience in effectively dealing with international and headquarters staff, and sensitivity to other cultures
Exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and administrative details in a fast paced and constantly changing environment
Expert computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Word and Excel
Must have the ability to be innovative and be an agent for change
