NRC is looking to recruit a Security Advisor for our Jordan Country Office

Our ideal candidate is:
A Senior Security Professional with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in senior roles as Security, Safety and/or Risk Manager/Advisor/Analyst in a humanitarian/recovery context. An individual experienced in building team and staff capacity, with strong analytical skills. Experienced working in complex and volatile operations and has a knowledge of the context in Jordan and the region as a whole.

Reporting to the Country Director, in this position you will join highly motivated and expert
staff who are making a difference to the most vulnerable people in one of the world's biggest displacement crisis. You will be responsible for mentoring, training and capacity building of national staff in addition to country-specific security analysis/programming.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Advise the Country Director on all safety and security aspects of NRC operations in Jordan
Develop, continuously update and implement the NRC Security and Safety Management System at national level
Conduct country-wide, location-specific and project-specific Security Risk Analyses/Assessments according to minimum operational standards and requirements
Minimize security and safety risks to NRC operations and manage accidents/incidents as requested
Support, train, manage and develop security staff in all offices
Communicate and cooperate with relevant external security and safety actors
Train and develop staff skills in safety and security
Support NRC operations with core-competency, project, activity and location specific security and safety analysis;
Manage and monitor security and safety budgets;
Manage, oversee and coordinate all security and safety related sub-contractors;
Conduct continuous risk mapping and assessment, and produce clear recommendations and requirements for improving NRC’s preparedness and operational space;
Identify and manage organizational risks related to security and safety and lead NRC Jordan’s efforts in improving occupational health and safety;
Maintain relevant external, national and international, networks in all areas of NRC operations and lead / represent NRC in relevant external coordination fora.

We can offer a 12 months contract

Duty station: Amman

Approved health certificate will be requested before contract start
