Location: Iraq
The Static Security Officer is the commander of the Static Security Guard (SSG) and is responsible for the physical security of the Embassy compound, including entry control, internal escorts, Quick Reaction Force (QRF) and incident management. The SSO also manages and administers the SSG, and coordinates with the client for escort tasks and entry control.
Responsibilities
Command and Control of all static security elements on site.
Oversee shift change procedures.
Command and control of incidents within the AUSEMB unless directed otherwise by OPS Manager.
Deploy the QRF as required.
Schedule work cycles for SSG and Unity interpreters.
Report CCTV Status to RSA & SPM every week.
Administer the SSG.
Conduct & supervise training for the SSG.
Attend daily OPS brief.
Carry out duties as directed by OPSM.
Short-notice escort of visitors to the DFAT restricted floor.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Ex-military or ex-police with an excellent record of conduct. Relevant experience in a hostile environment for a minimum of one year. No criminal record; honourable discharge. Sound knowledge and experience in the planning and conduct of security operations, including static guarding in a hostile environment. Previous experience working as a static security officer, or in a similar role, for a minimum of one year. Demonstrated interpersonal communications skills. Highly developed IT skills for database management, and preparation of reports and presentations. Military, Police or civilian range Officer-in-Charge qualification.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
Previous experience in Iraq in a similar role. Ability to communicate in Arabic. Holds a current drivers licence.
Nationality Requirement
Australian preferred; UK, NZ, US permitted.
Security Clearance Requirement
Hold, or be able to obtain, an Australian Government Negative Vetted Level 1 clearance (equivalent to ADF SECRET clearance), or national equivalent.
