IBTCI specializes in Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) across many sectors including, but not limited to, conflict and crisis, democracy & governance, economic growth, education, environment, and global health.

Reports to: Director of Security and Operations or Assignee
Position Description: This is a full-time non exempt position

The ideal candidate will have experience working as a security advisor to National and International NGOs. Must have experience in monitoring potential threats from crime, civil unrest, kidnapping and terrorism. We require a strong background in research and report writing with the ability to work on individual and team tasks. The successful candidate will work as part of a small team supporting field offices and corporate headquarters. Must be fluent in English language, both oral and written, have good liaison skills and full proficiency in MS Office suite including Word and PowerPoint. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills are required. Prior work experience in International Development is a plus. This position is located in Vienna, VA.

Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
OPERATIONS Department:
Take the lead on facilitating the registration of new projects, maintaining watch of their status, identification of and liaison with In-country legal firms and government branches with which the processes must be conducted.
Serve as main point of contact for lawyers in country, regarding all necessary procedures and processes to remain compliant with local labor laws.
Take the lead on Tax registration and Tax compliance requirements for new projects, to include identification of country specific relevant sources and agencies for compliance with local legislation.
Assist project proposal and mobilization to include identification of required inventory such as satellite phones, accounts, and billing procedures.
Responsibility for the authentication of corporate documents and ensuring all necessary documents are in compliance with local laws in the countries where IBTCI operates.


Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

SECURITY Department:
Produce country and city studies and relevant security plans.
Perform threat and risk analyses of IBTCI areas of operations.
Production of global and country security updates.
Organizing and coordinating security meetings and briefings.
Initiating and organizing communication with field office staff with regard to security across multiple IBTCI projects.
Assist with, review and edit the majority of documents produced by the Security & Operations department, including RFPs and RFQs, as well as SOW for assessments and security evaluations.
Identification of security needs and requirements to include training and career development for the SFP.
Maintaining IBTCI membership to OSAC, EISF and other security and risk management
organizations.
Liaison with all staff being sent to the field, ensuring that they have the required Evacuation insurance, a secure pick-up at the airport, lodging, medical information, emergency contact information and understand/ abide by IBTCI policies.

Additional Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

Researching, compiling and dissemination of the Daily Security Brief.
Conducting research to produce assessments and analysis on regions and countries in which IBTCI currently operates or plans to work in.
Formatting and editing security documents including inserts for corporate policy documents.
Interface with consultants to ensure they have all the necessary background information, (country report(s), IBTCI security procedures and policies, briefing guide, etc.)
Administrative duties, note taking and compiling, also supporting the senior Associate and Director with organizing briefings, trainings and general schedule.
Interfacing on a weekly basis with all project Security Focal Points (SFP) to reinforce best practices
Filing Staff Security Briefings and Acknowledgement forms in specific organized files on IBTCI drives, to ensure that all staff are in compliance with security requirements.
Operations coordination and tracking
Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Fluency in oral and written English language.
Excellent writing, research and organizational skills.
Full proficiency in MS Office suite including Word and PowerPoint is required.
Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated strict attention to detail.
Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Minimum Requirements:
Experience:

A minimum of Six months of relevant work experience
Ability to effectively collect, synthesize and present Security and Operations information from diverse sources.

Additional Experience:
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Intelligence, Security, Terrorism, International Affairs, or other relevant area, or in the final year of seek qualification.

Preferred Education and Experience:

In the final year of seek qualification.
Prior work experience in International Development is a plus.
The candidate should have some global travel experience although not essential.


Working Conditions: Work is performed in a typical corporate office environment.

Physical Requirements
: Work is generally sedentary, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.


Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.


Travel: Occasional International travel may be required.



Work Authorization: This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship. Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.A.
