Purpose of Job & Background
In support of the Bank's security related tasks, this role is essentially responsible for the management of information relevant to security threats and risks with regard to Bank operations, personnel and assets in countries of operation and the Headquarters building. The Associate, Security reports directly to Head of the Security Unit within the Administrative Services Department and is responsible for the management of information relevant to security threats and risks, to maintain and enhance the security of the Bank's officials, assets and operations worldwide.

The incumbent collaborates closely with and advises other operational staff of the unit; and coordinates with internal and external parties involved in the security risk and threat assessment process.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Under direction of the Head of the Security Unit, the incumbent will devise, maintain and coordinate the implementation of the Bank's security related risk policies, procedures and guidelines.
He/she will develop country-specific security risk analyses and prepare briefings on security situations for staff and management, as required.
In order to establish operational and development requirements, the incumbent will continuously monitor security threats and risks and carry out related analysis.
In support of the security risk and threat assessment structure he/she will gather and interpret related information and develop relevant security risk assessment documentation.
The incumbent will be actively involved in supporting the day-to-day activities of the security unit, and will play an important role in the continuous review and implementation of security processes and procedures. This will require maintaining and developing existing systems and databases.
He/she will assess relevance, reliability and accuracy of obtained information and, after interpreting it, assess related security trends and recommend security projections. He/she will devise appropriate reporting templates for the Bank's management, based on the evaluated information, and recommend and maintain appropriate internal dissemination channels for further decision making process.
The recommendations of the incumbent will form a basis for assessment of security trends and early warning indicators.
He/she will support an effort in devising security related policies, guidelines and operation procedures, as well as in determining security resources requirements of the Bank.
The incumbent will determine security information requirements, allocate priorities and determine the most suitable sources of information both, internally and externally.
He/she will participate in the effort of developing and maintain security related training structures for staff and security officers of the Bank.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
University degree in relevant security related studies and/or international relations, public administration
Substantial relevant experience with either an International Financial Institution and/or an organisation with an international footprint.
Excellent drafting & communication skills.
Experience of work in central and Eastern Europe and the MENA regions in either security analysis and management/security planning or security auditing would be an important advantage.
Strong interpersonal skills essential.
Operationally adept at all levels of management.
Computer Literate: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Fluent English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of French, Russian or Arabic would be a distinct advantage.
Expected to work on own initiative on a day-to-day basis with an ability to prioritise and schedule own workload.
Attention to detail and eye for accuracy is essential.
Ability to make value-added decisions independently, drawing on experience and judgement.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills. The ability to multi-task is essential.
