Operations Security Specialist

Location: WPS II Task Order (High Threat OCONUS)

Position Status: Position contingent upon contract award

Summary

The operations security specialist (OSS) will be responsible for performing duties within the tactical operations center (TOC). The OSS will ensure there is an effective, efficient, and a timely response to incidents by integrating threat or incident-related preparedness, response, and recovery actions in coordination with the Department of State (DS)/Regional Security Officer (RSO).

Essential Functions
Monitor incident and threat reporting, and appropriately call for deployment of the appropriate response team(s) (Quick Response Force, Emergency Response Team, Explosive Ordnance Disposal, etc.).
Operate communications equipment, while monitoring and relaying radio traffic and effectively controlling the network.
Communicate with entities outside of the network with a variety of voice and text-based communications technology including local cell phone, regional and global satellite phone, tactical military radio, and UHF/VHF radio.
Prepare weekly and/or daily reports, as requested by supervisory chain-of-command.
Maintain a watch activity record.

Education and Experience

OSS must possess one of the following:
A minimum of three (3) years of experience working in any of the following:
Tactical operations center
Intelligence analysis
Watch center
Command post
Police/Fire/Rescue dispatch (not 911)
Marine Security Guard
Military Police
A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Shift Leader on WPS II or any of its predecessor contracts (WPS, WPPS II, or WPPS) within the area of responsibility.

Qualifications
Prior to bio approval, the OSS shall meet the following:
Must be a US citizen.

Upon bio approval, the OSS shall meet the following qualifications:
Attend and successfully complete the NPSS training course.
Qualify with the Glock-19 and M4, re-qualifying as required by the task order.
Obtain and maintain a personnel security clearance and special access.
Complete the WPS Physical Readiness Test at the 50% performance level, and maintain that fitness level for the duration of his/her service on the task order.

Supervisory Responsibility

No supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

Task Orders for High-Threat WPS II locations. While visiting overseas location(s), one may experience temperatures that are very cold or hot.

Physical Demands
Operations Security Specialist must pass the WPS II Physical Readiness Test and weapons qualifications.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days may vary. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Possess no impediments to traveling overseas and within countries that are considered dangerous or unhealthy in general, or to the country or countries assigned in the applicable task order in specific.


Security Clearance

Obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance, at minimum.
