Assistant Loss Prevention Manager

Job summary: 
To manage the safety and physical security program and to enforce the program within the scope of the hotel requirements. To monitor the day-to-day operations of subordinate security force for the physical security and safety of the hotel assets, in accordance with hotel policies and government regulations. To ensure maximum security and safety of guest and associates.

To direct and supervise the implementation of security and safety measures for the protection of property, associates and guest visiting or staying in the hotel.
To supervise all security staff and operate security and loss prevention department efficiently.
To advise management on all matters relating to security and safety, and to implement hotel contingency plan, effectively.
To familiarize all government regulations pertaining to hotel industrial security and safety and others related to loss prevention department.
To act as liaison with the police department (Bur Dubai Police Station / DPS) CID, and Civil Defense and follow-up cases under their jurisdiction. Review the progress of all investigations and the techniques that are being used.
Upon request, to assist the Human Resource Department in the screening of job applicants and associates to determine immoral, criminal tendencies, supervise inclinations or activities.
To effectively investigate and conduct inquiries on incidents, felonies, misdemeanors, theft, losses, casualties, injuries etc., that occurs in the hotel. Deals personally with guest and associates concerning the above incidents.
To review all investigation reports to ensure that the information gathered as evidence is properly documenters.
To maintain files and records of wanted person, bad-debtors, confidence tricksters, unwanted and troublesome guest, pimps, prostitute and others who may cause trouble or embarrassment to the hotel.
To advise management of any irregularity of associates or guest behavior and to confer with management on unusual security measures or events.
To administer the activities of Security and Loss Prevention Department and its personnel, ensuring attendance and training documentation.
To maintain proper discipline in the department and to act as per hotel SOP and LSOP.
To monitor department’s budget expenditures for equipment repairs or replace and ensure maximum utilization of the same.
To formulate contingency plans for emergencies (Local Crisis Management Plan), such as terrorist activities in the area, earthquakes, and fires. Ensure training for members of Hotel Emergency Response Team, to support the above emergencies.
To establish contacts and confer with outside security services whenever additional security is required for parties, visiting dignitaries, etc.
To conduct orientation and ensure that new employees understand the responsibilities of the security department pertaining to their own security and safety, as well as that of the hotel and guest.
To formulate and make recommendations for compliance of safety and OSHA regulations.
To review and update the Local Crisis Management Plan, Security and Loss Department’s policies and operating procedures as required, complete all Security and Loss Prevention and Fire Safety Reports on time and distribute promptly. Keeping all necessary records as per required policy and procedure.
To coordinate with all department heads regarding safety and security issues pertaining their department to organize necessary training for their staff.
To carry out occasional assignments/projects designated by Director of Loss Prevention or General Manager or other duties as business demands.
To conduct all necessary fire safety and loss prevention trainings for the hotel and staff housing. To carry out regular inspection and to issue report for necessary action.
Reports on duty immediately on all emergency related safety and security issues and take appropriate action accordingly.
