Job Summary
Aktis Strategy continues to expand its portfolio in a number of sectors across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, including in institutional development. We are looking for Arabic speaking technical specialists to lead project teams or be senior technical specialists either on a fulltime or part-time basis, for a number of institutional development opportunities with civil society and government stakeholders across the MENA region.
Knowledge and Experience:
Minimum Bachelors’ degree in International Development, Security. Humanities, Politics, Law, Business Management, Commerce, Medicine, Science, Engineering gained from a reputable, quality university.
Masters qualification in relevant sector a significant advantage.
•5-7 years of field experience in the MENA region in one of the following sectors:
international relief, humanitarian or development programmes ideally in conflict affected context;
public sector institutional reform ideally including security and/or justice sector reform change management
· Experience working for an international organisation
· 5 years of senior-level leadership, capacity building and field management experience
· Substantial experience of operating in conflict and emergency environments
· Demonstrated success working effectively with host country governments
· Successful and proven negotiation, communication and organization skills
· Excellent oral and written English and Arabic skills. Additional full language proficiency in French a significant advantage
· Ability to work effectively with an ethnically diverse team in a sensitive environment
