The Liberia Media Development program works to increase all citizens’ access to independent and reliable information and empowerment to engage in well-informed public discussion of important issues of the day.

For the implementation of the Program, we are currently looking for qualified, competent and motivated Liberian for the following position;

Logistics and Security Manager
Location of position: Monrovia, with occasional travel to partners’ offices in and outside of Monrovia.
Duration: An initial one year, with possibility of extension
Salary: Attractive and negotiable

Scope of the role: 
The Logistics and Security Manager will manage the procurement, logistics and security operation of Internews Liberia program. She/he will report directly to the Director of Finance and Administration, work closely with the Human Resource and Administrative Manager and the IT Officer and liaises with Internews Global Director of Operational Security to ensure security of assets and staff, and compliance with USAID and Internews procurement regulations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
Establishes security procedures for the office in liaison with Internews’ Director of Operational Security; serves as focal point for security;
Provides logistics support for all events/trainings and international technical assistance;
Supervises drivers and responsible for maintenance of project vehicles;
Procures all necessary equipment and ensures delivery to media outlets and partners;
Maintains inventory list of all project equipment for the project;
Consolidates a transport and vehicle management procedure which includes vehicle specifications, lease or purchase requirements, maintenance, tracking system updates, licenses, insurance, and log books;
Revises and implements quality assurance, stock management and control for Internews own operations, in collaboration with finance and administration where applicable;
Complies with USAID security plan regulations and procedures;
Reviews twice a year the security plan, including all procedures, risks indicators, evacuation plans, etc.
Monitors and reports on the security situation to best advise the Chief of Party;
Represents Internews, liaise and interact with other related agencies through security coordination platforms and maintain a security network within Liberia.

Essential Requirements
University degree preferably and/or training in a relevant field;
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Logistics and Security Management;
Demonstrated experience in relief, recovery projects and clusters and other official coordination bodies;
Demonstrated experience in reviewing procedures, setting up application models and monitoring systems;
Demonstrated understanding of and experience with policies, protocols, and procedures of USAID, other donor agencies and international NGO;
Good understanding of key principles of international NGO including accountability, impartiality, protection and security
Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and detail orientation;
Strong commitment to teamwork;
Effective communication, motivating leadership and interpersonal skills;
