Deputy Security Manager

Location: Khartoum Sudan

Main purpose of job:

The Deputy Security Manager assists the Post Security Manger in the key role of keeping Embassy/DFID staff members, families, information, and properties safe and protected ensuring security is maintained at a commensurate level in which all staff complies with the security regulations and procedures.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Directs and monitor the day to day activities of security supervisors.
Liaises with external security and law and order network such as diplomatic police in matters of the safety, security, and protection of the  staff members and properties.
Plays pro-active role in developing and implementing effective training strategy and programmes for security supervisors and guards.
Manages PRISM entries and updating of required data and information of all security supervisors and guards.
Manages the yearly Staff Performance of all security guards as the Counter Signing Office (CO) that of security supervisors as the Reporting Officer (RO).
Administers and runs the Security Operation room and Store.
Overseas the day to day access control operation at the Embassy/DFID buildings and premises including managing passes.
Administers all security equipment including digital radios, CCTV & electronic patrol systems , metal detectors, mail scanner, locks and keys.
Regularly runs test of the Embassy/DFID alarms and public addressing system on weekly basis Ensures incoming mails/packages are properly inspected and if necessary subjected to X-ray mail scanning Ensures that required daily, weekly, and monthly forms are always available at the appropriate security posts and locations.

Resources managed (staff and expenditure):
Manages 5 security supervisors, the security store, operation room and the security equipment, including the digital radio network, the CCTV system, Alarm system, the computerised Embassy and residential patrol system, and Embassy/DFID access control and management system.

Skills Required:
Essential on arrival: 
Good driving skills with a valid driving Licence.
Effective and efficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Three or more years of experience in the operation of the Embassy security system or in equivalent situation or area.

Experience in the use of security equipment such as radio communication, CCTV footage retrieving, and operation of mail-scanner machine.
