Security Coordinator


Location: Juba, South Sudan, with frequent travel to field offices

Job Summary
The Security Coordinator is responsible for directly overseeing all security related matters of AAH-South Sudan. Responsible for security assessments, planning and staff training as may be needed.

Job Function
Monitor security events and developments and advise senior management on appropriate response options.
Attend security meetings and provide regular security and risk assessment.
Provide pre-travel briefings to incoming visitors, employees, and contractors and security induction on arrival.
Design and update safety and security standard operating procedures, security protocols and policy, phone tree/communications policy.
Provide regular advice and refresher trainings to staff and contractors on security guidelines and general risk mitigation.
Liaise with the security service providers, local administration, police authorities and other emergency services as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience
Minimum 8 years of relevant practical experience in security management or advisory roles in a conflict or post- conflict environment
Previous law enforcement and/or military experience preferred
University degree in related fields (Military Science, Community Policing, Emergency in Conflict and Post Conflict environment)
Experience operating in Africa, especially understanding of South Sudan context
Experience training employees in hostile environments and operational security protocols
Experience working with international development / humanitarian organizations preferred
