PSO Staff Trainer (ACOTA)

IDS International is building a winning team to assist the U.S. Department of State’s African Contingency Operations Training Assistance (ACOTA) Program. The ACOTA Program is meant to provide training, logistics, and construction support to African countries and organization to enhance their capacity. IDS is looking for a PSO Staff Trainer to support ACOTA. The PSO Staff Trainer will serve as a Peacekeeping Operations instructor for deployed partner nation battalions and brigades in support of sustained multinational peacekeeping operations in Africa. Training will involve classroom instruction, Peace Support Operation (PSO) Command Post Exercises, and Computer Assisted Command Post Exercise. This position requires the PSO Staff Trainer to have a subject matter expertise in at least one (1) Combat Arms, Combat Service or Combat Service Support, U.S. Military Operational Specialty, Branch or Functional Area. The PSO Staff Trainer position requires deployment to Africa.

PSO Staff Trainer (ACOTA)

Responsibilities:
•Develop POIs, lesson plans, and training support packages for collective training specified in the performance of work statement.
•Confirm all training scenarios are based on the most current mission area information from Areas of Operation to which African PKO battalions and brigades will deploy.
•Conduct classroom instruction in Peace Support Operation (PSO) Command Post Exercises, and Computer Assisted Command Post Exercise.

Minimum Qualifications:
•AA/AS Degree from an accredited institution.
•Minimum of five (5) years of U.S. military operations and training experience.
•Staff experience at battalion or brigade level.
•Minimum of fifteen (15) years military operations and training experience (or civilian equivalent) required.

Preferred Qualifications:
•U.S. Military combat and/or PKO experience (03, 0-4, O-5, or O-6 levels) with completed U.S. Military Education Command and General Staff College or equivalent.
•Recent OIF/OEF experiences are preferred.
•Completed Military Education Level 3 or 4 (Command and General Staff College or equivalent) is preferred.

Preferred language capability of level equivalent to 3-3 for non-English speaking countries.
