Education:
Tertiary education in administration, conflict management, policing and security management or related areas of study;
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of security–related work experience in Somalia;
Current experience working in Somalia, especially Jubaland area;
Experience working with NGOs, UN, AMISOM or Jubaland administration is highly desirable
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide advice on selection and adoption of appropriate security mechanisms and risk mitigation
Advise and facilitate all security related matters for the project and project personnel
Support PMU on the mainstreaming of security risk management in all stages of project planning.
Participate in inter-agency security coordination arrangements
Provide timely and accurate security advice and information to JUSTJOBS project
Provide the KISIMA project staff with situation reports and other appropriate security –related information as and when required
Facilitate the security screening of project target youth beneficiaries as part of the pre-qualification in close collaboration with Ministry of Security and Jubaland security apparatus;
Skills and Languages:
Ability to exercise effective control of difficult and complex situations, with a sense of fairness in making judgments;
Ability to negotiate fairly and to compromise where necessary to ensure the success of the project;
Ability to concentrate on the overall picture and to delegate responsibilities as appropriate;
Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to manage a diverse range of professional relationships essential;
Fluency in written and spoken English and Somali language is essential.
