PSD/Convoy Escort

Responsibilities:
Personal Security Detail
Develops and implements PSD security plans to affectively ensure mission compliance. The PSD Team members will assist in the review and development of PSD policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure mission required performance. Performs personnel protective service detail assignments as they pertain to assigned programs responsible for assisting in the planning, scheduling, and organizing of daily PSD team activities on designated contract.
Perform day to day protective security functions as specified in daily post and detail orders. Ensure that all PSD personnel selected for program contract are executing their responsibilities efficiently and effectively. Responsible for safe operations of assigned PSD transportation to ensure for principals safety to include (water, air, and ground) operations.


Convoy Escort Team Member
Performs the day-to-day protective security functions as specified in daily brief and detail orders in all aspects of Personal Security Detachment (PSD) or Convoy Security Operations to include mission planning, administrative functions and assist with tactical decision making as required. Plan, lead, and provide mobile security functions for Personnel, Convoy, Advance, and other security missions. Assist Team Leader as required. Prepare and maintain personnel, property, maintenance, and operational records.

Convoy Escort Team Member – Medic
The Convoy Medical Escort Team member will provide the same services listed above for Convoy Escort Team Member as well as providing first aid response to any casualties during PSD/Convoy operations.

Qualifications:
PSD Member shall have a minimum of (3) years law enforcement or military experience and a minimum of (1) year of experience in protective security.

Additional Requirements (PSD):
Be able to successfully pass a medical/physical examination prior to start of any training.
PSD Personnel are required to attend and successfully complete and pass an approved training course, which may include the following:

-Vehicle Dynamics
-Defensive Tactics
-Basic PSS Operations
-PSS Advanced Operations
-Weapons training
-Advanced weapons training
-Medical Training

In addition the PSD Member will be required to qualify on an approved weapon qualification course, with the listed weapons systems or additional weapons systems as required (M-240 Bravo, M-249, M-4, M-9)

Convoy Escort Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be prepared to live and work in an austere environment. Must be willing to work seven days a week, 12 hours a day.
Must be willing to work in and travel through potentially high threat areas as required.

Additional Skills for Convoy Escort:
Minimum of two years previous protective security experience in a hostile environment with demonstrated time conducting both security for Personnel and Convoy operations.
Strong interpersonal/communication skills as well as VHF/UHF/Satellite/GPS and mapping skills
Strong working knowledge of protective security and close protection
Self-motivated, dependable problem solver with a strong professional demeanor
Foreign language skills are not required, but a working knowledge is beneficial
Medic - Must possess one year of medic experience as a Combat Medic.

Education Required:
Medic - Provide documentation of medical certification (license equivalent) to that of an Initial Responder or Emergency Medical Technician.
