Head of Quality (Weapons Industry)


Location: Middle East
Salary: Circa 616,000 AED Tax free(£110,000) p.a + Benefits


Job description
Our client, a leading weapons manufacturing company in the Middle East, is looking to hire a highly skilled and qualified candidate to work as their Head of Quality in the region.

The ideal candidate must have had hands on experience of minimum 12 to 15 years in establishing QMS systems and in setting the Quality benchmark across various business sectors touching base with all areas of manufacturing from the beginning to end.

Key Responsibilities
Leading the QHSE system; define policies & procedures, managing and controlling QMS thereby improving the effectiveness and efficiency of QMS
Evaluate the reason for a product/ process failure and analyze and implement corrective measures to rectify the cause
Manage the evaluation process of suppliers submissions of PPAP packages and analyze and take preventive methods
Setting up quality control benchmark for each process in the manufacturing line
Establishing Process Flow Diagram(PFD), process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA),control plans, sampling and factory acceptance testing plans
Define and implement the required operational procedures related for new product development, design and configuration, vendor control, testing and launch
Define and set up process and quality specification
Conduct statistical analysis on data received from various quality control processes and report to senior management with more effective improvement ideas and recommendation
Plan and prepare yearly budget for the Quality Management Department
Restructure and analyze the process and operations from time to time to get the optimum result with minimal loss along with identifying gaps and implementing procedures to bridge them
Review and achieve the department objectives and KPI�s in order to align with the company�s business objectives
Conduct audit on existing and new or potential suppliers to assess the suppliers management products and the suppliers capabilities
Plan and schedule internal audits and provide training sessions
Report and analyze audit results and give feedback to top management

Candidate profile: Skills:
Knowledge in First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process ( PPAP)
Knowledge of ISO /TS 16949 standard ,OHSAS 18001 and ISO9001 requirement
Advanced Product Quality Planning ( APQP)
Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, Tools and concepts.
Ability to apply logical, scientific or analytical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems

Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Engineering

Ability to work in a team environment
Excellent communications/interpersonal skills
