Position Summary:
IBTCI have identified a requirement to develop a pool of experienced security consultants, who can be called upon, sometimes at short notice to fulfill our operational requirements both domestically within the US and globally.
The ideal candidates will have experience in conducting a wide range of services, ranging from city and country studies, threat, and physical security assessments to Security and Emergency Management Plans, including formulation of such elements as Crisis Management Plans. They should have experience in working with small to large businesses as well as non-profit organizations including International NGOs.
They should be familiar in mitigating risk to assets, confidential information, and personnel through security audits and assessments in high-risk environments. And possess high standards in operational and administrative management, quality assurance, report writing and document reviews, policy and plan development, operational risk management, intelligence and investigative support, training and education.
Task duration could typically range from 1 or 2 day tasks to weeks.



Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in security administration or operations, crisis management, international development, public administration, transportation logistics or a related field is required. A master’s degree in one of the above fields is preferred.
Prior Work Experience: Management experience in an overseas humanitarian assignment, preferably in an high risk or unstable environment - with a minimum of three (3) years working in fragile, complex, conflict, post-conflict and/or transitioning environments and a minimum one (1) year experience working specifically in conflict, post conflict and/or disaster recovery programs in support of emergency relief, humanitarian assistance, or reconstruction programs. Experience working on urban, semi-urban, remote, and rugged terrain in developing environments is also an asset. Specialized expertise in managing the safety and security operations of a donor agency, bilateral or multilateral organization, international non-governmental organization, or private company is required as is prior experience working with local security personnel.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated and verifiable competencies in the following are required:
  1. Demonstrated knowledge of comprehensive safety and security operations planning and day-to-day management skills.
  2. Knowledge of drafting and implementing safety and security protocols in high risk environments
  3. Demonstrated ability to assess and make informed recommendations on physical security upgrades.
  4. The exceptional ability to forecast future safety and security needs and knowledge of best practice on addressing these needs.
  5. Planning and operation skills, including the ability to plan and operate in a rugged and constrained and/or crisis field environment.
  6. Problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively and make sound decisions in high-stress and crisis situations.
  7. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Communication, Language, and Computer Skills:
  1. Ability to effectively collect, synthesize and present information from diverse sources.
  2. Capacity to build networks with external entities, including other USG agencies, host governments, NGOs, private sector entities and local officials.
  3. Demonstrated leadership and communication in an intercultural team environment, working with sensitive information in a professional manner.
  4. Fluent English language, both oral and written, is required.
  5. Some knowledge of Arabic preferred.
  6. Full proficiency in MS Office suite including Word and PowerPoint is required.
