PST Team Lead - Afghanistan

Position Summary:
The Transportation PST Team Lead is responsible for the overall accomplishment of the protective security detail team’s mission, team unity, and team training. The PST Team Lead will act in a supervisory capacity for team members and be responsible for administrative duties for the team through the guidance of the PMO and in-country management.

Principal Accountabilities
•Responsible for the planning and execution of all PST missions.
•Responsible for their team’s personal protection of all DynCorp personnel while in a convoy movement.
•Assist in developing PST security plans to effectively ensure mission compliance and will assist in the development of PST policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure mission required performance.
•Act as the on-site supervisor of the PST team in regards to personnel protective service detail assignments as they pertain to assigned programs.
•Responsible for PST Team’s safe operations of assigned PST transportation to ensure for principles safety, to include mobile, air and static venue operations.

•Utilize special weapons and tactics to ensure mission success and ensures that all team members are trained to utilize and deploy special weapons and tactics to ensure mission success.
•Conduct protective formation position training daily for their team members.
•Assign advanced security reconnaissance of projected routes.
•Serve in the capacity of AIC officers when directed.
•Performa other qualified duties as required.

Knowledge & Skills
•Able to communicate verbally in a concise and professional manner.
•Able to accurately and concisely write reports of serious incidents and communicate in writing other documents such as Site Security Analyses and Risk Assessments.
•Able to develop, amend and describe to others Standard Operating Procedures appropriate for the threat level and force protection level.
•Demonstrate a strong ability to read and understand intelligence reports.
•May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
•Ability to conduct both static and mobile PST operations.
•Technical and tactical proficiency with the various small arms used in support of company operations.
•Ability to operate motor vehicles of various weights in a tactical manner both on and off-road.
•Physical fit, which allows for standing for extended periods, running w/ tactical equipment and pulling/carrying an excess of 180lbs.
•Ability to obtain a security clearance if required.

Experience & Education

•Five (5) or more years’ supervisory experience to include management and supervisory responsibility of more than 15 people.
•Three (3) or more years’ experience in High Threat Environment (Preferably in a PSD capacity).
•Five (5) or more years military (Combat Arms) and/or Law Enforcement experience (SWAT) with leadership and management experience and training preferred.
•This experience and background may have been gained in any of the following organizations:
◦U.S. Department of State Diplomatic Security Service
◦U.S. Secret Service
◦U.S. Federal Agencies, i.e., FBI (former special agents with protective security background)
◦U.S. Special Forces/Special Operations
◦U.S. Military Infantry (Army or USMC)
◦Commercial executive protection services with military or police background
◦Law Enforcement experience (U.S. Military Police/Criminal Investigations Division; or an Emergency Services, SWAT type unit of a local or State Law Enforcement Agency)

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
•Place of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh, and work can be performed under hostile and life-threatening conditions.


Travel
•Ability to travel internationally may be required


Qualifications
Candidate must be able to pass both weapons qualifications and physical fitness course: The minimum standards are:
•Endurance Run completed in 2:30 minutes (two minutes and thirty seconds)
•Obstacle Course completed in 2:00 (two minutes)
•M-4 Rifle qualification scoring of a minimum of 240 points on the approved DSS qualification course
•M-9 Pistol qualification scoring of a minimum of 400 points on the approved DSS qualification course

•Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to operate a standard transmission vehicle
•Must have obtained a Weapon's Certification within the last 10 years
