Job Overview
The PSO Soldier Skills Trainer provides Peacekeeping Operations (PKO) soldier skills instruction to African military units receiving U.S. Department of State’s Program training.
Soldier Skills Training focuses on BRM, CQM, Movement formations and techniques, Infantry squad and platoon battle drills, Convoy operations, CQM/CQB, C-IED, Recon, Checkpoint operations, crowd control, and cordon and search. Training supports the preparation of partner country soldiers for the rigors of sustained PKO operations in Africa. Training involves
classroom and field instruction in austere environments. Will teach all classes in the Host
Nation Military training language.

Duties & Responsibilities: 
Responsible for;Instructs PKO unit soldier skills training for African company, battalion and brigade sized units deploying to PKOs.
Instruct African soldiers in human rights (to include gender respect, elimination of sexual exploitation and child protection), individual health maintenance, individual first aid, HIV/AIDS prevention, and an orientation in United Nations peacekeeping operations
Responsible for ensuring development of POIs, lesson plans, and training support packages for individual and collective training as noted in each Program Office Task Order.
Expected to know or review the U.S. Army doctrine applicable to the task for which they are responsible to instruct.



Education & Experience: 
Minimum five (5) years military operations and training in a Combat Arms Specialty required
Strong background in overseas program operations focused on training local national military personnel and units preferred

Subject matter experts in at least one Combat Arms U.S. Military Occupational Specialty,
Branch, or Functional area. Familiar with standard military training concepts, practices, and procedures.
Experience with either U.S. State Department, United Nations (UN) Chapter Seven
Operations, or Africa Union (AU) highly desired.
Recent U.S. Military combat and/or PKO experience at E-5 through O-3 level
Recent OIF/OEF experience desired
Preferred to have experience operating in hardship areas
