Physical Security Manager , Iraq

This is a supervisory position based at the Basrah (BSH) in Basrah, Iraq and will be associated with the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) department. The Physical Security Supervisor will take ownership of all Basrah Delta Scientific pedestrian and vehicular gates and barrier control systems. This position reports to the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.

Duties: 

The Physical Security Supervisor provides daily work assignments and will supervise a mixed team of Foreign Nationals (FN) and Local Nationals (LN)


Performs gates and barriers services as required for:
Inspecting, cleaning, lubricating and performing preventive maintenance (PM) on the physical security electric and hydraulic pedestrian and vehicular control systems, manufactured by the Delta Scientific corporation, located at the compound access control (CAC) points.
Verification that all gates and barriers are operational and performing maintenance and repairs based on Delta Scientific requirements and in accordance with the PAE O&M plan.
Trouble-shooting problems, utilizing test equipment and meters, assisting with installation of new electrical and electro-mechanical devices
Submitting reports to the O&M Manager on a scheduled basis
Assisting Department of State (DoS) engineering security office (ESO) staff with integrity testing
Assists in developing the Statement of Work (SOW) when requested
Reports any problems or lack of compliance with the SOW or O&M plan, to the O&M Manager
Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections.
Maintains the appropriate technical library and record-keeping which documents all procedures necessary to accomplish assigned responsibilities

o Maintains effective, timely and respectful communication and interaction with other employees, managers, and supports other organizations.
o Performs other administrative tasks including material ordering, inventory, work scheduling
o Collects, analyzes and summarizes data for report preparation and submits written reports.
o Responsible for facility custodianship of work area and management of tools, equipment and spare parts.
o Must be able to take initiative to analyze a situation and to make frequent technical decisions based on specifications, safety and electrical codes.
o Must be able to evaluate operational effectiveness and develop/maintain effective operational control mechanisms.
o Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. 

Qualifications:
Experience:   
The Physical Security Supervisor will have a minimum of five+ years’ general security system maintenance experience with Delta Scientific Corporation security controls equipment and a minimum of three years’ general security operations and maintenance (O&M) experience in an overseas setting.
Training and experience with other manufacturer’s security controls systems and equipment is highly desired.
Knowledge of applicable U.S. Codes and accepted trade practices.
Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards and related safety precautions associated with security gates and barriers systems and equipment.
Must have good organizational and communication skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions independently.

Required:  
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent education is required. Completion of an Apprentice program with a Journeyman Electrician Certificate or an AA/AS trade’s degree from a two year college and/or equivalent field experience is strongly preferred.
Security Vetting: Must possess an active DOD or DOS clearance (minimum Secret, or higher as required by the position). Must maintain eligibility at the required security level for the duration of the contract.
Language Skills:Strong professional English communication skills, both oral and written.
Citizenship:US Citizenship is required for this position.
Medical:Favorable passage of a drug screen and physical examination.
Driver’s License:valid Driver’s License from Home of Record (HOR)

Desired:  
Relevant overseas security controls and systems repair experience
Experience working with PAE.
Experience working with SOW, sub-contractors, budgets, estimating, working drawings and as-builts.

Other Knowledge,Skills & Abilities:  
Knowledge of ALL principles and processes involved in operating and maintaining security gates and barrier systems at an overseas facility
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer services.
