ICITAP Law Enforcement Instructor 15 – Counter Boko Haram Project
ICITAP is a law enforcement development organization whose mission is to work with foreign governments to develop effective, professional, and transparent law enforcement capacity that protects human rights, combats corruption, and reduces the threat of transnational crime and terrorism, in support of U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives. ICITAP is a seeking a law enforcement advisor to work on an intermittent TDY basis in the Lake Chad Basin. This position will require the advisor to embed in training facilities in order to deliver training in Intelligence-Led Policing and provide mentoring to senior and mid-level police commanders in Cameroon, Chad, Niger, and Nigeria.
You must hold a current and active secret clearance to be considered
Minimum Tangible Qualifications:
15 years minimum as a sworn law enforcement officer in a U.S. law enforcement organization, whether federal, state, or local. Candidates should have held the rank of chief of police, deputy chief of police, commander, major, captain, or lieutenant or the equivalent to these ranks.
At least 3 years prior experience working on international law enforcement training and organizational development.
Must have training experience using and instructing others on the adult learning model of instruction and be familiar with the concepts and instruction of a train-the-trainer program in the international environment.
Availability to be an intermittent advisor for at least full one year.
Must possess expertise in Intelligence Led Policing techniques.
Must have a current and active secret security clearance
Must have prior experience in Leadership positions
Must have demonstrated strong decision making skills
No language requirement for this mission - Translators will be available however, French is a plus
