In response to the Ebola crisis in Sierra Leone, Save the Children are scaling up their work and are looking for a Security Manager who will oversee the safety and security of their staff across the country. This is a critical and high profile role which will report directly into the Country Director and is expected to last for around 6 months.

The Role:
The Security Manager will design and oversee staff security protocols on a country-wide basis. They will liaise with the military and our response partners to ensure a coordinated approach to health and safety. The Security Manager will preside over context specific security training for staff with a particular emphasis on building the capacity of national security and safety staff. They will provide regular safety analysis updates, assessing the security threat level, and suggesting appropriate contingency plans for a variety of scenarios. Should the situation become sufficiently stable, the Security Manager will preside over an incremental increase of country-wide, declared safety zones. Please note that this will not be a patient facing role.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Substantial experience of safety and security management for an INGO or in a similar context.
Substantial experience of working in low resource environments.
Communicate at all levels, establish security networks and deal with a wide variety of actors.
Proven ability to provide comprehensive risk assessments.
Ability to manage multi-cultural teams.
