Construction Security Specialist - Cuba

Summary:
The Construction Security Specialist will perform security escort duties as needed for construction personnel and other visitors and provide random security entry and exit inspections at designated JTF facilities. In addition, they will support the installation, monitoring, administration, and maintenance of automated IDS, biometrics, access control systems, CCTV, surveillance cameras and IDS fence-line throughout the JTF Area of Operations in accordance with applicable government regulations and specifications. This is an unaccompanied position at an overseas location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position)
Conduct Badging operations for all inbound personnel and visitors.
Coordinate for the issues badges in accordance with JTF badging policies SOP’s and directives.
Screen construction materials in coordination with the SSO and IAW the CSP and Government approved SOP.
Monitor implementation of the CSP by visual observation of construction-related activities, and reviews of construction drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
Conduct entry and exit inspections at designated JTF facilities:
Conduct random inspections on all hand-carried items entering or exiting JTF facilities to prevent/deter any unauthorized/prohibited material from being introduced or removed from facilities controlled or occupied by the JTF.
Ensure unauthorized/prohibited items do not enter or exit JTF facilities without expressed written approval of the JTF Commander or CoS.
Ensure that personnel who are transporting classified information through the JTF JOA have appropriate courier authorization.
Report all violations to Team Lead immediately and action will be taken as outlined in the referenced regulations and SOP’s.
Provide security operations support
Perform physical security assessments (PSA) for all buildings and workspaces under JTF-GTMO control to ensure compliance with command and DoD physical security policies and procedures.
Manage database for all JTF-GTMO security containers, facilities, and offices and all SF 700s.
Responsible for the inventory of X-09, CDX-09 electronic locks, Simplex 900, Simplex 1000 series locks to maintain current and future physical security posture.
Provide support to repair/remove and replace all JTF-GTMO locks during duty and non-duty hours.
Provide support for the installation, maintenance, and administration of the Electronic Security Systems (ESS) to include Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), biometrics, access control systems (ACS), and closed circuit television (CCTV), IAW DoD and DNI policies and industry standards.

Additional Requirements:
Medical services and treatment at USNB GTMO is limited. Pre-deployment physical / screening for pre-existing medical conditions and current vaccinations may be required before deployment.
Must possess a Valid US Passport.
Must have the ability to live to live in communal environments and work in austere and/or harsh environments.
Must possess a Current / Valid Driver’s License

Work Environment:

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)
High School Diploma or a GED.
The Contractor shall have 60 college credits successfully completed at a grade of C or higher or have two (2) years of experience in a security related field.
Secret Clearance required; Top Secret/SCI preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience with MS Office applications and a basic familiarization with current computer hardware and software technology.
