Job Description
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a retired/former US Army/ FBI or US Navy Special Operations Officer or Noncommissioned officer (Special Forces, Navy SEALs, or equivalent) to continue developing standing operating procedures/real world doctrine in support of the LAF VIP Protection School, and provide instructional support for the Basic VIP Protection Courses and build a Train the Trainer (T-3)
core group within the structure of the Lebanese Armed Services. Target audience for the training and courses to be taught is 40 LAF Army ISF, Presidential Guard, and General Security Officers assigned to a VIP Close Protection Team and 20 trained VIP Protection Instructors assigned to the VIP Protection School. This position is located in Beirut, Lebanon. This position is Contigent on Task Order Award. This position will start Mid to late June 2013.

This Security Assistance Training Team is one of several being provided to the Lebanese Armed Forces in support of increasing the Lebanese Armed Forces operational readiness. This training team is being provided as part of a Security Assistance Training Program that directly supports US Foreign Policy and the execution of Department of Defense Security Cooperation Plans and Programs. This is the fourth year of a multi-year US Assistance program.


Observe and assess current course plan and assist in improving the curriculum.
Continuation of Instruction and Developing current and up-to-date course material in support of the Basic VIP Protection POI:

Situational Awareness/Operational Mindset
Enemy Tactics, Techniques, Procedures (TTP’s), Counter Measures, Pre-Attack Indicators
Terrorist Operations/Case Studies/Attack Methods and Weapons
High/Low Threat Advance Mission Planning and Execution
Organization of Protective Detail- Command and Control/Team Leadership
Offensive and Defensive Driving – Vehicle Dynamics – Motorcade Operations
Marksmanship and Shooting Techniques – Weapons Qualification Courses of Fire
Protective Security Formations – Walking and Driving – Venue Arrivals and Departures
Mission/Operational Planning – Environmental Assessments
Expand the 2012/2013 Program of Instruction to include the following subjects:

Adult Learning Theory
Instructional Formats Appropriate to Classroom Training
Principals of Learning
Trainee Phases in the Learning Process
Stages of Instruction
Use of Training Aids and Support Equipment
Establish VIP Protection Student Physical Fitness and Weapons Qualification Courses of Fire/Qualification.
Assist the LAF in the integration of VIP Protection Trainers into the Basic VIP Protection (POI) Program of Instruction.
Assist in the training and Mentorship of a Train the Trainer (T-3) courses of instruction.
Prepare LAF Instructors to develop course material and to conduct teach backs on the VIP Protection (POI) Program of Instruction.

For over nine years, AMERICAN SYSTEMS has supported the delivery of training services to foreign military personnel in support of US foreign assistance programs. We offer a very competitive compensation and benefit package and there are no upfront out of pocket expenses for persons hired. All travel and transportation arrangements will be made and paid for by AMERICAN SYSTEMS. Living expenses are paid by AMERICAN SYSTEMS with all employees living in western-style secure accommodations. Work is performed five days per week at a Lebanese Military Complex. Persons hired will be full-time salaried employees of AMERICAN SYSTEMS. There is no requirement/authorization to carry firearms.

Job Requirements
Retired/ former US Army/ USN special operations officer or noncommissioned officer (Special Forces, Navy SEALs, or equivalent).
Experience in a joint environment during OCONUS operations (Operations OEF, OIF).
Experience in close personal protection operations.
Instructor experience in close personal protection.
Well versed in, and capable of developing a Program of Instruction (POI) in a limited amount of time using available materials and publications.

Ability to present proof of recent negative HIV test. (Although Lebanon does not require any specific immunizations, candidate should have current immunizations as listed on the US State Department and CDC’s websites for travel to Lebanon.)
Must possess a current US Tourist Passport (with no Israeli stamps). (Passport must not expire within 12-months of being hired.)
Candidate must be drug-free with ability to successfully pass drug screening test.
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
Ability to effectively conduct cross-cultural communications and deliver training/instruction with the use of an interpreter.


Proven record of successful performance in military special operations with 10 years’ experience in VIP Protection programs and recent supervisory and instructor experience.
Experience in a joint environment during OCONUS operations (Operations OEF, OIF).
Experience in close personal protection operations.
Prior experience conducting cross-cultural communications and delivering training/instruction with the use of an interpreter.
Prior experience as a military instructor in the related skill is highly desired.
Prior experience developing military instructional material.
Prior experience working with and training foreign military personnel is highly desired.
Prior experience working with foreign military personnel in the region is highly desired.
