Each position within our business is of key importance and we are currently recruiting for a Security Manager.This role will be based in Melbourne CBD. The Security Manager Victorian Courts Precinct is responsible to the General Manager for the total management, which includes safety and security, of all areas within G4S Contractual Obligations. All duties are to be undertaken in accordance with G4S and Courts Operating Policies/Procedures, Emergency Plans and Post Orders.

Role Responsibility:
In line with our core values the responsibilities undertaken within this role, but not limited to are as follows:
Review/Maintain operating procedures, emergency plans and standing orders that ensure the secure functioning of all facilities within the area of responsibility.
Comply with Budgetary guidelines and targets
Complete all monthly reports in a timely manner
Attend regular meetings with all agencies/stakeholders, oversee the Security and Emergency Planning Committee meetings (which includes the taking of minutes)
Supervise the deployment of staff to facilitate resource efficiency.
Oversee and direct the Team Leaders and Group Leaders.
Liaise with PSO, Police and other Agencies as required.
Complete all relevant documentation in relation to daily functioning.
Adhere to Code of Conduct
Comply with G4S Policy and Procedures
To be familiar and compliant with relevant Workplace Health and Safety Legislation, as amended from time to time. Contribute to the development of safety procedures.
Comply with Equal Employment Opportunity Legislation within the workplace.
Oversee and manage all plans in relation to operations in the event of an emergency situation.
Implement and promote effective communication techniques.
Ensure all staff are adequately trained for their duties.
Other Duties as directed by the General Manager.

In order to carry out the position of a Security Managersuccessfully you will ideally possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:

Current Victorian Security License
Current Level II Certificate in First Aid
Current level III in Security Operations
The ability to supervise several sites including a multi functional facility and to lead staff to ensure compliance with G4S contracts
High level of leadership, interpersonal and customer service skills.
High level of computer skills
Advanced capability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated sound knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity legislation.
Ability to assess problems and make sound judgements as to the remedy.
Sound knowledge of Duty of Care

Desirable
Certificate IV in Security or the willingness to obtain.
Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training or the willingness to obtain.
Experience in the operation of weapons detection equipment
