Security & Emergency Response Manager - Sohar, Oman

The Role
The Security Manager will be responsible for protection of people and assets; internal investigations, security incident response and support to crisis management for operations in Sohar and to reduce the probability of security incidents affect operations. The Security and Emergency Response Manager will lead the security department which will encompass emergency response planning and formulating policies and procedures for effective security plans.

Main responsibilities include;
• The application of an effective security effort among all industries in a dynamic development environment to meet threats that can potentially change at short notice.
• Contingency planning to mitigate the risk of disaster and to retain the appropriate ability to respond to a crisis should it occur.
• Liaison with tenants and critically, with the ROP
• Regularly reviewing and updating strategy, plans and procedures to keep pace with Industrial development and changing risk profiles.
• Overseeing the design and installation of integrated electronic security systems, such as Access Control, CCTV surveillance, intruder alarms, smoke detectors and outdoor perimeter and microwave alarms.
• Establish an investigating and reporting structure to facilitate the effective recording and analysis of incidents involving injuries, property damage, fraud, robbery, arson and near misses due to accident or crime.
• Responsibility for conducting site reviews, writing audit/review reports, reviewing findings, and making recommendations to the line management and /or their security coordinators.
• Maintaining knowledge of industry trends, current security issues and security technology

Requirements
• Background in Military / Armed Forces
• Bachelor's Degree concentrating in health & safety, security, engineering, industrial technology or equivalent experience in mechanized or electrical industrial field.
• Previous change management experience (driving, influencing and inspiring change through communication at all impacted levels).
• Minimum of 7 years of progressively experience in a security and emergency response related role
• Knowledge of port-related security on multi occupational sites;
• Experience in a security, emergency response, health and safety;
• Development of emergency response plan programs, auditing, risk analysis & assessment;
• Proven and demonstrated ability to successfully lead and motivate security & emergency response teams .
