Key role planning and overseeing daily security routines within the facility suit experienced and qualified Security Manager

Full Description 
As the Operations Manager - Security you will be accountable for planning and co-ordinating the smooth execution of daily security routines of the Centre. You will report to the Senior Operations Manager and assist them in managing all aspects of security/operational policies and procedures.
With solid experience in the Security industry you will be familiar with the day to day complexities of running the security function within a multi function facility and will be prepared to be a highly visible part of the operation.

Your principal Accountabilities:
To be familiar with and ensure that all Client Service staff conform to the procedures for dealing with People in Detention in the Detention Centre Rules, Manager`s Rules, Operational Updates.
Manage daily regimes for People in Detention within the Centre`s recreation and activity areas, visits and the Reception/Discharge procedures, consistent with efficient use of available staff resources.
Manage documentation relating to clients in liaison with members of management.
Training & development of your team.
To maintain a working relationship both internally and with external parties.
To keep the Senior Management Team appropriately informed of operational matters by verbal and written reports.
To attend schedule or assigned relevant meetings.
To carry out duties specified in Emergency Response Plans and Emergency Orders.

Ideally you will have:
Certificate III in Security Operations and be willing to complete Certificate IV within 12 months.
Previous security management experience preferable within a similar environment with a good understanding of operations within a large facility. A strong knowledge of service delivery within a human service industry
Previous Supervisory and people leadership experience
Good report writing skills
The ability to build and foster strong working relationships both internally and with external parties.

Additional Requirements:
Maintain a current Australian Federal Police Clearance
Maintain a current -Working with Children` certificate in accordance with the relevant state child protection legislation (as required)
Meet the character and training requirements of the Migration Act 1958 in order to be designated as an Officer under the Act
