Director – Defence & Security , SA-All-Riyadh


As Performance Improvement Director – Defence & Security, you'll build valued relationships with external clients and internal peers and develop a portfolio of business by focusing on high impact opportunities. You'll lead presentations and proposals for moderately complex projects - or elements of highly complex projects - and provide subject matter insight to bids and proposals.

Drawing on your skills and experience, you'll create innovative commercial insights for clients. You'll also adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership. In addition, you'll package overall project findings into clear, concise, high-quality work products. Acting as a subject matter resource on one or more services, you'll leverage knowledge and experience to shape Ernst & Young's services to meet client problems.
By driving improvements in business processes, you'll serve as a role model for quality & risk management and confirm that project teams understand and comply with Ernst & Young's Q&RM guidelines. As a respected senior professional, you'll communicate effectively with Ernst & Young engagement partners and managers and work to build, manage and motivate high-performing teams. You'll also help key staff to build sustainable competencies.Client responsibilities

► Participate in and, as required, lead Defence and Security focused engagements

► Plan, prepare and review deliverables in various forms including written reports, presentations and discussions with clients, Ernst & Young teams and other parties

► Communicate significant issues, fees, and estimates-to-complete to clients

► Leverage client relationships to drive new business opportunities

► Understand Ernst & Young's full service offerings and actively identify opportunities to better serve clients

► Build strong internal relationships within Ernst & Young Advisory Services and with other services across the organization

► Develop your personal profile in the marketplace

► Develop awareness of Ernst & Young offerings in the marketplace

► Build strong, long-term relationships with key client sponsors

► Manage risk of delivery on client engagements

► Manage all financial aspects of client engagements

► Act as an ambassador for Ernst & Young in the market and with clients
People responsibilities

► Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring all levels of staff

► Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for all levels of staff

► Drive people-related initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training Finance professionals

► Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills of all levels of staff

► Understand and follow workplace policies and procedures and communicate these to all levels of staff

► Act as a leader of the business and as a role model for staff

Technical skills requirements

You'll have knowledge at any of the core forces such as:

► Land Force
► Air Force
► Air Defense & Missiles
► Navy, Special Forces
► Army Logistics

You'll have knowledge and experience as below:

► A proven track record in successfully leading the delivery of multi-year, multi-stream consulting / advisory programs within the Defence and Security sector which are at or greater than US$ 2.5 million in fees - leading teams of 15-20+ consultants with multi-disciplinary backgrounds
► Proven experience on multidimensional IT enabled transformational change programs that include process, organization and technology components and have been concluded successfully/resulted in actual charge or deployment of a solution or new operating model
► The minimum requirement of actual experience will be direct responsibility for leading the delivery of a minimum count of 2 projects full cycle projects (from planning to successful conclusion) that meet the above criteria in past 6 to 8 years
► Must have direct, relevant and recent experience of working within secure government and policing (e.g. MOI, Police etc) criminal investigation (CID), national/state security, crisis management, visa, immigration, border security and national identity management gained within a consultancy firm within the GCC/ME region
► Should have the policing and criminal investigation background from IT perspective

Additional requirements
► Previous experience of working for one of the large consultancy firms -inclusive/preferably with business and system integrators
► Proven ability to work with teams from different disciplines including advisors, consultants and other subject matter experts
► Experience of working with Defence & Security Government entities
► Demonstrated ability to work with different stakeholders and ability to effectively manage the different agendas of these stakeholders
► Proven ability to develop 'master' program plans with detailed budgets
► Proven ability to track project progress effectively and to deliver projects on time and on budget
► Advanced abilities/competencies in project risk management including the escalation of key issues
► Ability to successfully manage scope creep issues
