Assistant Security & Training Manager - Rumailla, Iraq

Job Introduction:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our BP contract based in Rumailla, Iraq for an Assistant Security & Training Manager, the primary agent for operational management, design, delivery and measurement of training and contract compliance across the contract. To facilitate the smooth running of the project by applying sound managerial principles and judgement. The role will interface with both the Client's Management Teams and G4S Secure Solutions Iraq Management Team. Training will include driving skills, protective security and basic medical skills.

You will have commercial security management experience and have served at least 8 years exemplary military or police service service with 2 years previous experience in Iraq. Proven experience in training multi-national personnel is essential. You will also hold the following:
SIA Licence
MIRA qualification
NEBOSH qualification

In return you will be employed on a 12 month rolling service agreement on a salary of $90,000 per annum which is paid across the term of the contract in 12 equal monthly instalments. The contract is worked on a rotation of 6 weeks in country and 6 weeks out.

Role Responsibility:
Oversee and co-ordinate all G4S activities in support of BP operations on a daily and as required basis.
Ensure compliance with Iraqi law and local requirements.
Ensure that full training and personnel records are maintained for all G4S personnel.
Ensure that all G4S rotational leave plans are implemented.
Manage and co-ordinate all communications and Control Room requirements in support of BP Operations.
Assess and supervise any local security arrangements.
Develop reporting procedures for security incidents.
Assist in the development of evacuation and medical plans.
Liaise and co-ordinate activities with BP personnel.
Assist with the management of site security and safety systems to identify any deficiencies.
Implement MBC SOP’s including the site security, RoE, Defensive Posts and QRF.
Participate in and co-ordinate the security response to emergency calls.
Conduct effective performance evaluations and mentor all personnel through formal channels.
Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Ensure all incidents and accident reports are completed as per SOPs.
Design, and direct the management of all induction training for all new G4S Expats and Local employees on the BP contract. Training is to include:

Weapons training including range practice, Use of Non Lethal Force, rules of Use of Force for lethal force, Standard Operating Procedures, oversee the authorized and qualified Trauma Medics on Airways Breathing Circulation (ABC) and trauma based scenarios, Contact Drills to include: target indication, immediate actions, cross loading, movement to strong hold, man down drills and contact reports, Driver training and vehicle tactics, Vehicle maintenance, recovery and loading, Iraq Country Training (cultural aspects of working in Iraq), Client etiquette, communications, quality control of all training through periodic review by way of Training Needs Analysis, Team Leader training and design and implementation of a Team Leaders Course, regular assessment of individual standards and skills through formalised assessment;


The Ideal Candidate:
Essential
O’ level or equivalent qualifications in English and Mathematics is essential
SIA Licence holder
MIRA qualified medic
NEBOSH qualified
Police Class 1 Advanced Driver or ROSPA equivalent preferred
Recognised Training qualification
Commercial Security Management experience
At least 8 years military service record in Western Armed Forces, Police or equivalent at Senior NCO or above.
Minimum of 2 years previous Iraq experience.
Experience in the training and management of multi-national personnel.
Very good verbal command of the English language.
Excellent written English skills.
Excellent client facing skills
Proven supervision skills and the ability to work unsupervised and under pressure in a fast paced, high risk environment.
Proven IT skills in all Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word & Power Point).
Familiarity of crisis management processes

Desirable
Professional Security Management qualifications would be an advantage
Arabic language qualifications are desirable
Project Management qualifications are desirable e.g. Prince 2
