SUMMARY:
The Kennel Boss is directly responsible for maintaining the kennels and reports directly to the assigned Regional KM/PM and/or Regional Training Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Afghanistan based Regional Project Management Team (PMO) in effectively maintaining the Kennels to AMK9 contractual standards. Essential Duties may include but are not limited to;
Caring and maintaining the kennels
Conducting daily kennel care for unassigned CWDs or conducting kennel care as directed by the KM/PM or Training Manager. This includes maintaining CWD’s diet
Coordinating the daily health checks and grooming of CWDs that are assigned to Handlers out of the country or otherwise unavailable
Immediately reporting any health issues or behavioral issues
Maintaining the break areas
Ensuring the CWD food is rotated and of good quality
Disinfecting all kennels
Strictly adhering to AMK9 Training Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs)
Ensuring all assigned equipment is being properly maintained, Saf, and in good working order
Ability to create, to maintain, and prepare records and reports
Able to perform tasks with minimal oversight
Possess strong organizational, time management, and analytical skills
Must be able to multi-task

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities at the Program Level.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Six months experience working with animals is desirable
Requires thorough knowledge of animal handling skills, animal behavior, and animal care
United States citizen and able to deploy oversees.
Valid driver’s license

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to effectively present information to co-workers and the military

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
